Tammy Rene (Sutherby) Moyers, a lifetime resident of Grays Harbor, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at her home in McCleary, Washington. She was 55 years old.

Tammy was born on December 6, 1970, in Aberdeen, Washington, to Roland and Tropha (Fields) Sutherby. She was raised in McCleary and spent most of her life throughout the Grays Harbor area.

Tammy often shared that her greatest work and proudest accomplishment was raising her children and creating a loving home for her family. Tammy was the proud mother of 5 children: 3 sons; Lester “Levi”, Nicholas “Nick”, and Jordan; and 2 daughters: Kelsea and MacKenzie. Her family was the center of her world and she treasured the relationships she built with those she loved.

In 2014, Tammy reunited with her soulmate, best friend, and life partner, Jonathan Moyers. Their children had attended school together, and the two had been friends for many years before their friendship blossomed into a loving partnership 12 years ago. Together, they shared good times, hard times, many laughs, and great love.

Anyone who knew Tammy well knew of her daily love for a bottle of Coca-Cola (or three). She also had a special place in her heart for children, especially babies. She loved getting together with friends who had little ones, always finding a way to sneak in some precious baby snuggles. Tammy was a social butterfly. She had a wonderful sense of humor and rarely had a serious bone in her body. Although she could certainly be stubborn, she also had a kind heart and a special gift for making people feel welcome. Tammy could walk into any room and leave with a new friend. She made people laugh and left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Tammy is preceded in death by her father, Roland Sutherby, and her brother, Steven Sutherby.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Kelsea (Austin) Phillips, of Salem, Oregon, Lester “Levi” VanBrunt, of Denver, Colorado, Nicholas “Nick” VanBrunt, of Tumwater, Washington, Jordan VanBrunt, of Byers, Colorado, and MacKenzie VanBrunt, of Byers, Colorado; and her 3 beloved grandchildren: Penelope “Poppy” Phillips, Theodore “Theo” Phillips, and Nicholas “Junior” VanBrunt. She is also survived by her life partner, Jonathan Moyers, of McCleary, Washington; her mother, Tropha Sutherby, of McCleary, Washington; sisters: Carolyn (Sam) Eshom, of Elma, Washington, La Veta (Dave) Sherman, of Vancouver, Washington, and Twilah (Shawn) McNally, of Covington, Washington; nieces: Mindy Eshom, Katie (Rob) Woolsey, Emily (Shelby) Hale, and Melissa (Ronnie) McMillian; nephews: Kyle (Angie) Strozyk and Sean (Kara) Strozyk, as well as numerous extended family and dear friends who loved her very much.

Tammy will be remembered for her laughter, her big heart, her love of family and friends, and her ability to make a friend wherever she went. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a lasting legacy of love that will continue to live on in all those who knew her.

A potluck celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM at McCleary Rock Harbor Church. 208 Pine St., McCleary, WA 98557. The family invites you to bring a favorite dish or dessert that you know Tammy would have loved.
