Montesano, WA. – Scott Wayne Heiner was born May 13th, 1960 in Ilwaco, Washington, passed away peacefully at his home on July 2, 2026 at the age of 66. He was the beloved son of Diane Pratt and Doug Heiner and was the oldest of 6 brothers.

Scott married his high school sweetheart, Judy Vaughn, and they were together for 46 years. His brother, David, built their home in Montesano, WA, and they raised two sons, Jason and Justin, there together.

He was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union, working as a journeyman tree trimmer. In this profession, he worked many long hours during and after severe wind and snowstorms throughout the Pacific Northwest, to assist local communities recover and provide for his family. He retired in 2022 after 42 years of service. And there was not a question you could ‘stump’ him on when it came to trees, given his job as a journeyman tree trimmer.

Family was everything to Scott. When he became a grandpa, that wasn't just another title, it was a calling. He filled their childhood with adventures. Summer trips, winter trips, horse-drawn sleigh rides through the mountains, fossil hunting, rock hunting, exploring caves and underground caverns, clam digging, fishing, and fireworks... and then more fishing, and more fireworks. His granddaughters and anyone else that was blessed to be a part of the adventures will carry these memories in their hearts forever.

He was preceded in death by his dad Doug, step-dad Bill, and his brother Dave, and many other relatives with whom he is now rejoicing. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy, his sons Jason (Mandi) and Justin, his granddaughters, Emily and Ayla, his brothers, Dale, Doug (Denise), Willie (Amanda), and Ricky (Crystal), and many nieces and nephews, and other family members.

We don't measure a life by the years we live, we measure it by the lives we impact.

A graveside service will be held at 1 PM on Sunday, Sept 6, 2026, at Peaceful Hill Cemetery in Naselle, WA. A potluck luncheon will immediately follow at Hunters Inn.
