August 3, 1954 — March 22, 2025

Aberdeen

Roxy Ann Ashby, 70, a beloved long-time resident of Ocosta, Washington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 22, 2025.  Roxy was born on August 3, 1954, in Sunnyside, Washington to Don and Nona (Springer) Thompson.  During her childhood, her family moved to Mabton before settling in Westport, where she graduated from Ocosta High School in 1970.

In 1975, Roxy married the love of her life, Steve Ashby, in Grayland.  Together, they build a beautiful life and raised three sons: Crandall, Darrick, and Darren, who were the center of her world.  Proudly a "boy mom", Roxy's home was always filled with laughter, energy, and the joyful chaos of kids gathering to play.  Roxy opened and operated The Prawn Shack in Westport, offering fresh spot prawns to the local community for over 20 years.  Later, she became a licensed massage therapist, a profession she practiced for over a decade with compassion and care.  In 2008, she devoted herself full-time to caregiving for her son after a life -altering accident.  More than anything, Roxy cherished her family and found deep joy in being a grandmother.  Her nurturing heart, strong spirit, and sense of humor made her a bright presence in the lives of those around her.

Roxy is survived by her husband of 49 years, Steve Ashby, of the family home; sons: Crandall (Jacquie) Ashby, Darrick (Mandy) Ashby, and Darren Ashby, all of Ocosta, Washington; her brother, Dennis (Mary) Thompson, of Snohomish, Washington; sisters: Toni (Rick) Parker, of Ocosta, Washington, Dixie Cheshier, of Cordova, Alaksa, and Teri (Jeff) Gustafson, of McCleary, Washington; and her four beloved grandchildren: Kayden, Kylee, Macie, and Danner.

A celebration of Roxy's life will be held at the Ocosta Rec Hall in Ocosta, Washington, on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 1:00 PM.  The family invited you to share memories and messages of condolence at www.fernhillfuneral.com.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Twibell's Fern Hill Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Washington.
