Pamela “Pam” Louise Burns, a lifetime Grays Harbor resident, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026, at the age of 78 surrounded by her family at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington.

Born on May 24, 1948, in Aberdeen to parents, Lewis and Ada Stein. Pam was raised alongside her sister, attending Aberdeen schools and graduated from JM Weatherwax High School in 1966. In 1969, Pam married Don Fargo and together they welcomed 3 beloved children: Jeffrey, Donna, and Jason. Although they later divorced, they shared the joy of raising their family together. Pam began her career with K-Mart, where she dedicated many years until the store closed their doors. In November 1986, Pam married Dennis “Gene” Burns. They shared many wonderful years together until Gene’s passing in 2006. Following the closure of K-Mart, Pam continued her career at Rite Aid, where she worked faithfully until her retirement. Beyond her career, Pam was devoted to serving her community. She volunteered with the local VFW, where she enjoyed waitressing and helping with community events, and generously gave her time to PAWS of Grays Harbor, reflecting her deep compassion for both people and animals.

Pam was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post 224. She was a talented and creative woman who found joy in knitting, sewing, quilting, embroidery, and a variety of other crafts. She loved spending time in her garden, tending to her beautiful flower beds, and was the happiest when creating something with her hands. She also loved to bake her homemade pies and zucchini bread as some of her favorites. Pam was known for having the best Tupperware collection, she was always happy to lend a container, but never forgot who had it, she always made sure it found its way back home. She also wasn’t afraid to tell you “I told you so”, often with a smile. Pam had a tremendous love for animals, if she learned a dog at the shelter was scheduled to be euthanized, she often brought them home, providing love and a second chance. Her home was always filled with the companionship of many dogs. She enjoyed garage sales, playing Bunko, and was an avid reader. In her later years, she was finally able to enjoy traveling, including memorable trips to Yellowstone and visits with her children. Above all, Pam was devoted to her family. Nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Pam will be remembered by the countless memories, unwavering love, and the kindness she shared throughout her life. Her legacy of compassion and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Pam is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Burns; and her parents: Lewis and Ada Stein.

Pam is survived by her children: Jeffrey (Jennifer) Fargo, of Vancouver, Washington, Donna (Ron) Spomer, of Cody, Wyoming, and Jason (Crystal) Fargo, of Aberdeen, Washington; her sister, Anita Reike, of Harrisburg, Oregon; her grandchildren: Mike, Haley, Jaclyn, Alexis, Jesse, Jana, Conner, Brian, Jenessa, and Autumn; and 6 great grandchildren.
