Melissa “Lisa” Ann (Farney) Turner
March 7, 1957 - October 3, 2026
Melissa Ann (Farney) Turner, affectionately known as Lisa, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 3, 2026, at her home. Born on March 7, 1957, in Grand Junction, CO, Lisa was a cherished daughter to the late Herman Aaron Farney and Annie Etta Farney. Her journey through life was enriched by her love for those around her and her unwavering dedication to her family.
Lisa was a devoted wife to Dale Turner, with whom she shared 11 cherished years of marriage. Together, they created a life filled with love and treasured memories. As a mother, Lisa's heart overflowed with pride and joy for her daughters, Brandie Flaherty (Moon), Lisa Turner, and Marleena Harter (Turner). Her legacy extends through her beloved grandchildren, Jacob, Kaitlyn, Sophie, Tobi Flaherty, and Gavin and Gwen Harter, and her great-grandson, Carter Flaherty, who brought her immense joy and happiness.
Throughout her varied career, Lisa worked in numerous roles, each reflecting her hardworking nature and her ability to adapt and thrive. Whether managing a restaurant, cooking at a health and rehab facility, or her most recent position at a local credit union, Lisa was known for her dedication and commitment.
Lisa's heart was happiest at home, surrounded by her family and beloved dogs. She treasured the simple joys of life, such as taking road trips to the Redwoods in California, Las Vegas, and her favorite destination, Oatman, AZ. Her interests were diverse, from raising chickens in what was fondly known as the "chicken yard" to her admiration of English Bulldogs. In her earlier years, she found solace in crocheting, creating beautiful pieces that reflected her caring nature.
Despite her private demeanor, Lisa's love for her family knew no bounds. She found immense joy in providing for her loved ones, and her love of shopping was a testament to her desire to bring happiness to those she cared for. Her simple, yet profound, approach to life left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
In honoring Lisa's memory, the family kindly suggests donations be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting her generous spirit and love for helping others.
Lisa's warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
