Iona Beatrice Bristow

lona Beatrice Bristow, 86, longtime Grays Harbor resident, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2026 at her residence at the Beehive Assisted Living in McCleary, WA.

lona was born on February 4, 1940 in Foley, Minnesota. When she was a child, the family moved to Grays Harbor and settled in Cosmopolis where she remained for many years. lona graduated from Weatherwax Highschool in 1958.

She married Louis "Lou" Bristow in the summer of 1982. They became foster parents for many years. She enjoyed tending to her flowers & garden for many years. She also enjoyed bowling, playing pool, ceramics, and jigsaw puzzles.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

lona is survived by her sons: Rodney Cox of Central Park, WA, Calvin (Lisa) Cox of Elma, WA, and Salvador (Sandy) Bristow of, Anaconda, MT, daughters; Brenda (Calvin) Galbraith of Central Park, WA, Teri Cox of Elma, WA; siblings Joe Shapanksy and Carol Jean Shapansky of Cosmopolis, WA, as well as eleven grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren. lona is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louis Bristow; daughter, Carmen Wheeler; brothers: Jerry and George; sisters: Thelma and Doris; and her grandson, Jesse.

Inurnment was held on Friday, October 30th, 2026 at Forest Hill Cemetery in Cosmopolis, WA.
