Amy Nicole Dixon, age 52, passed away peacefully at her home in Westport, Washington, on Friday, September 18, 2026, surrounded by love and held in the arms of her beloved husband.
Amy was born on December 22, 1973, in Norfolk, Virginia, to Roland and Deborah (Ellis) Henning. Growing up in a military family, Amy and her sister, Kelli, lived in several places, including Cuba, before settling in Jackson, Tennessee, when Amy was 4 years old. She graduated from Southside High School in 1991.
Amy spent much of her life working in the restaurant industry, where she truly excelled. She was genuinely a jack-of-all-trades. Her favorite jobs, however, were those that allowed her to work alongside her daughter, Summer, and her husband, Andrew.
After spending many years in Jackson and Denver, Colorado, Amy moved to Colorado Springs with her daughter, Summer, in 2019. It was there that she met the love of her life, Andrew “Drew” Dixon.
Amy and Drew shared the kind of love some people spend their entire lives searching for. They were more than husband and wife; they were best friends, soulmates, and each other’s whole world. Andrew loved Amy unconditionally, always making sure she was cared for, happy, and never alone. Wherever Amy wanted to go, he took her, and whatever she wanted to do, he was right beside her. Through every beautiful moment and every difficult day, they faced life together. Their time together was far too short, but their love was one that will last forever.
Amy and Drew married on February 13, 2020, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and eventually made their home in Westport, Washington, a place Amy deeply loved and proudly called her forever home.
Amy was a woman with a strong personality, a stubborn streak, and an even bigger heart. If someone told her to do something, she was likely to do the opposite. But she was also incredibly generous, always wanting to help others and willing to give away the little she had if someone needed it more.
She enjoyed cooking, painting, decorating, gardening, and spending time outdoors. Above all, she loved her family. She especially cherished being wherever her daughter, Summer, and her grandchildren were.
As Amy often said, she “lived for them babies.” Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and nothing made her happier than spending time with them and making memories together.
Amy was preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Deborah Henning; her grandparents, Leonard “Poppie” and Ruth “Nanny” Ellis; and Marie Wilson, (Granny).
Amy is lovingly remembered by her beloved husband, Andrew “Drew” Dixon of Westport, Washington; her daughters, Summer DeBerry of Hoquiam, Washington, and Kolbee of Tennessee; and her son-in-law, Marty DeBerry of Hoquiam, whom Amy lovingly called her son.
She is also remembered by her sister, Kelli (Reggie) Pierce, along with Mack (Bubba), Autumn (Sissy), Grayce, Morgan, and Alexis, all of Jackson, Tennessee.
Above all, Amy leaves behind her three cherished grandchildren, Maranda, Jess, and Bodi DeBerry, who brought immeasurable love and joy to her life. She adored her grandbabies, and the love she had for them will live on forever in the beautiful memories they carry with them.
